Umm. What are we doing hanging around street corners, he asked?
Whiffies!
There's a food cart there with fried pies that I've been meaning to try, I said.

Mmm. Pie. You know how I feel about pie.
At that hour, most of the businesses in the area are closed. So it's a little weird to see this food cart pod so happening. But, most of the food carts here look like they're open until 3 a.m. so I guess that works for them.

The lights! The tent! The Potato Champion - Portland - Oregon food cart looks mighty popular.

This one less so.

We ordered one savory and two sweet pies for the four of us.

Peanut butter creme and chocolate chip pie, $3. The first bite was good, but then it was too sweet.

Guava pie, $3. Too sweet.

Just right! Chicken pot pie, $4.

The next night, after a late night dinner at Le Bistro Montage - Portland with our second-oldest and second-youngest nephews, we were back again.
With an under-21-year-old, there aren't that many places in Portland that I could think of to hang out at after midnight.
We were really going to Potato Champion because second-youngest nephew said he loves fries, but I couldn't resist ordering another pie on the menu that evening.
Barbecue brisket pie, $4. This ended up being my favorite of all the pies here. Meaty and full of flavor.
