Evening Primroses

4.21 Evening Primroses

Unbeknownst to me, some of the evening primrose seeds tagged along when I dug up my roses when I moved. Not many, but enough for a small bouquet in my favorite pitcher.

Here's a shot of the evening primroses in 2007 at my old house.

Other garden updates.

2 years ago today, a reader makes my recipe for ca ri ga (Vietnamese chicken curry).
3 years ago today, my oldest uncle's wife's banh xeo (Vietnamese sizzling crepes).

  1. Tagged along? No, no, they knew what they were doing. They hitched a ride to a new locale and begin their conquest of the new territory! It took me years to eradicate this delicate but tenacious plant.

  2. Oh, that's lovely! I like garden surprises. I repotted some herbs and thought summer here had killed of the lemon balm, but up it popped in my compost. Hurrah!

  4. Nikki,
Haha. I wonder how the renters at my old house are appreciating the evening primroses then.

    Oanh,
I had a tomato plant growing out of the side of my compost bin once. That was a nice surprise!

    W&S,
I need to start figuring out what to do with my new garden! Wonder if any evening primroses hitchhiked to the new place.
