After lunch at Pondok Kaki Lima (Indonesian Street Food) - Duarte Inn, Gourmet Pigs and I stopped into Indocart to check out its Indonesian and Dutch groceries. Even though I knew Indonesia was a Dutch colony, this was the first grocery store that I've seen with such a large selection of Dutch products in such a tiny space.
You know the Dutch eat their fries with mayonnaise?
I was intrigued by the Dutch honey cake, but wondered if it had been sitting there too long and might be dry.
Variety of Indonesian shrimp crackers.
And Indonesian ramen.
And Indonesian cooking packets.
I was pretty pedestrian in my purchases: root beer, tamarind juice, tea candy and a Hainanese chicken rice mix.
Worth a visit if you're in the area just to check out the Dutch packaged goods and Indonesian spices. Plus, this makes it the first Dutch entry on my blog. :P
