After stopping off at the House of Many Windows, we still had more time to waste so went to see Hemenway House. Do you keep wanting to say Hemingway house too?

Although she never actually visited Mesa Verde, the cliff dwelling was named after Mary Tileston Hemenway (1820-1894), a Massachusetts socialite who financially supported the first archeological research in the southwest.

$3 tickets are required to take ranger-guided tours of Cliff Palace, Balcony House, and Long House. Tickets may be purchased from inside the park at Far View Visitor Center and must be purchased in person.

    I wish I could access a bunch of these places. It's crazy to think how the ancients used hand and toe holds to get to them.
