10 Hemenway House - Mesa Verde National Park - Colorado 1

After stopping off at the House of Many Windows, we still had more time to waste so went to see Hemenway House. Do you keep wanting to say Hemingway house too?

Anyway, can you spot the cliff dwelling?

Although she never actually visited Mesa Verde, the cliff dwelling was named after Mary Tileston Hemenway (1820-1894), a Massachusetts socialite who financially supported the first archeological research in the southwest.

  2. Nikki,
I wish I could access a bunch of these places. It's crazy to think how the ancients used hand and toe holds to get to them.
