Last September, I noticed this flower getting ready to bloom. The first photo was captured at 7:45 p.m.

At 11 p.m., I went out again and saw the flower had partially bloomed.

At 1:30 a.m., I ventured out again just to see if there was any difference. Not really, but it was still lovely nonetheless.

I woke up at 6:30 a.m. and went outside again to see if the dragon fruit flower was still open. It was. It faded later in the day.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I just bought a dragonfruit stem cut from the Monrovia farmers market this last summer, and hopefully next year I can enjoy seeing these blooms. It seems like more and more people that I know of are planting more and more dragonfruit these days :).
ReplyDeleteLovely! Thank you for sharing this with us.
ReplyDeletePam,

CC,
Thanks!
ETE,
I see a lot of dragon fruit everywhere. I guess once you get a cutting, it's easy enough to share.

You're welcome!

ReplyDeleteTammy,
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it.
it's gorgeous! I love it! I ate a lot of dragon fruits (quả thanh long) but I never saw the flowers. I wish I could grow it where I live now...
ReplyDeleteSeahorse Viet,
ReplyDeleteI ate a lot when I was in Vietnam. They taste much sweeter there than here. Although, I did have one year when my dragon fruit were really sweet.
