Recently, I was contacted by Nick of the Pasadena Wine Festival who asked if I would like to attend and to give away some tickets to my readers.
The Pasadena Wine Festival, which takes place from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on October 9, features more than 125 wines, food samples, and live music, all underneath the towering trees of the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden.
I have to admit, admission to the arboretum and a tram tour of the 127 acres were the biggest draws for me. But I figured some of my readers might be like some of my friends, who immediately clamored to be my +1 because they were more interested in drinking wine, eating food samples, and listening to live music. Check out the video on their website for highlights of last year's event.
According to the organizers, what can you expect at the Pasadena Wine Festival?
* Stroll the grounds of the beautiful Arboretum and Botanical Garden
* Tram Tours of the entire 127 Acres
* Experience wines from California and around the world
* Learn about and taste cheeses from California and beyond
* Dine at communal tables while enjoying your wine or scope an area underneath one of the umbrellas
* Challenge your friends to a game of bocci ball, horseshoes, Ultimate golf challenge or just throw around the frisbee
* Most of all RELAX with friends on the Arboretum's grass while enjoying some vino and listening to some of the area's most renowned musical artists — from jazz to funk, to blues and salsa
* Bring blankets or beach chairs and enjoy the experience under the stars
* Suggested items: Bring sunscreen, blanket or beach chairs
* No one under 21 admitted
* No food or alcohol may be brought to this event
* In addition to sampling, food will be available for purchase
Several of L.A.'s food trucks will be at the event including: The Grilled Cheese Truck, World Fare Bustaurant, Dosa Truck, Crepe'n Around, Border Grill Truck, and Sprinkles Cupcakes.
I don't know about you, but I don't like to chase my food and having several food trucks in one place is a nice draw, especially as I've been wanting to try South African cuisine at the World Fare Bustaurant.
I will be giving away five pairs of general admission tickets!
I had to push for this, but I figured you were more likely to respond if you could bring a +1, instead of just going by your lonesome.
The general admittance ticket, valued at $28, is good for $1.00 wine tastings, vendor food samplings, tram tour, and live music under the stars.
So what do you have to do to win one of five pairs of tickets to the Pasadena Wine Festival? Pay attention because there are multiple chances to win.
*For one entry, please leave a comment with your email or other method of contact telling me why you'd like to attend the Pasadena Wine Festival.
*For a second chance, "like" the Pasadena Wine Festival on Facebook and leave a second comment here telling me you've done so. Then, click on the date below your second comment here to get the permalink, then leave a comment on the Pasadena Wine Festival's Facebook page telling them you've joined via Wandering Chopsticks. Sorry, it's a bit of back and forth, but I couldn't find another way to confirm you've actually "liked" them. Plus, it helps them know how many people are coming from my blog. And yes, I do check to confirm you've left a comment on their wall.
*For a third entry, follow the Pasadena Wine Festival on Twitter @PasWineFest and tweet Win 1 of 5 pairs of tickets to @PasWineFest via @wanderchopstick http://bit.ly/dca2o2 Then click on the time or status of your tweet to get the permalink and leave a third comment here as proof. A link to your Twitter profile is not proof, it must be to the exact tweet. You must have a public Twitter profile or else I will not be able to confirm that you've done so, nor can anyone see your tweet.
Got all that?
Leave a comment with your contact info, prove you've "liked" the Pasadena Wine Festival on Facebook, and prove you tweeted this contest.
That's three chances to win one of five pairs of tickets!
Deadline to do any, or all three, entries is 11:59 p.m., Thursday, September 30. I will pick the winners via Random.org after that date and update this post. Winners who do not respond in three days forfeit their tickets and I will select new winners. Please email me at wanderingchopsticks (at) gmail (dot) com to claim your prize.
If you don't win, you can still purchase tickets to the Pasadena Wine Festival online up to the night before or at the gates.
Thanks again to Nick and the Pasadena Wine Festival for sponsoring this giveaway.
