The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas 1

Has it really been four years since I was last in Vegas?

Well, that's one thing with the blog, it serves as a literal diary of my life. As I said last time, I'm not a gambler so Vegas never held much allure for me. Sure there's drinking and dancing and shopping and shows, but all those things I can do in L.A. too if I wanted and as I've gotten older, I don't want. But every once in a while, certain occasions will lure me to go places I don't usually go. And in this case, the occasion was cousin D's bachelorette party.

All the girls came in Friday night, partied until the wee hours and hung out in the cabana poolside at Encore. Man, I totally missed out. I drove out Saturday after work and got to Vegas in 3 1/2 hours. Quickest drive ever. I rolled in just in time to get ready for dinner.

The view from my hotel room at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, which opened this past December.

Most boring hotel room tour ever. Sorry, the girls were already settled in the night before so I didn't want to photograph our mess. I was in a room with lil' sis, my cousin's college roommate, and her best friend.

Very posh. Way fancier than the budget hotels where I usually stay.

The beds were wonderful. So soft with down quilts.

The mini bar was inside the leather dresser. Everything in the fridge and on the tray is on sensors so remember to make sure they don't charge you if you didn't eat or drink anything.

After getting ready (the oldest '87 did my makeup so nicely!), we went over to my cousin's hotel room to begin the festivities.

She got the room with the view!

  1. Your Las Vegas posts are going to come in handy when I go there for my birthday soon. I have a friend that lives there so I always have free room and board when I go, but sometimes I feel I miss out a little on the fun hotel experience and staying on the strip.

  2. Phuong,
Ha! Not really. Your friend is probably much better for places to eat and where to go. I've only been to Vegas a handful of times. The nicest hotels on the strip that I've been to were here and the Venetian. I usually stay at budget Imperial or the Las Vegas Hilton. Star Trek! :)
