Dismantling Camp and Leaving Rockaway Beach - Oregon

8 Dismantling Camp and Leaving Rockaway Beach - Oregon 1

Time to load up the car and head on out. Seemed like a lot of work for just one night of camping, but that's all the time we had in our schedules. And my dad was sooo happy to have all his kids home and going camping like we used that it was worth the work.

My brother scaling the tree to take down the tarp.

Do you think my dad's hunting jacket camouflages him? :P

Folding up the tarp reminded me of when we fluffed up the parachute and then the whole class sat inside it during gym. Did anyone else do that?

This view of the ocean right outside the campground always makes me happy. Love how the tree clings so fiercely to the rock. There's just a guardrail before the ground gives way to the ocean though so I could never manage to do more than snap a photo quickly as we drove by.

There's that tsunami hazard zone sign again. Notice how the picture advises you to run away from the waves? Really?! Is that what you're supposed to do in case of a tsunami? :P

We made a quick stop at Pacific Oyster - Bay City - Oregon to buy some oysters for dinner.

There was a gigantic fish that on ice that I swear was at least 3 feet long, but I forgot to take a photo for ya.

Then it was off to visit my parents' favorite little not-so-hidden beach.
