Banh Mi Thit Heo Nuong (Vietnamese Grilled Pork Sandwich)

Banh mi thit heo nuong 1

Besides making noodles and rice dishes with Thit Heo Nuong (Vietnamese Grilled Pork), you can also make banh mi thit heo nuong (Vietnamese grilled pork sandwiches).

The lovely part of making your own sandwiches is that it's loads cheaper. As if Vietnamese sandwiches weren't already cheap enough as it is. My preferred bread is Banh Mi & Che Cali's light, crispy, and buttery Vietnamese French bread, 3 loaves for $1. And you can stuff the sandwich with as much meat as you'd like.

Banh Mi Thit Heo Nuong (Vietnamese Grilled Pork Sandwich)

You'll need:
Vietnamese French bread or regular French bread
Thit Heo Nuong (Vietnamese Grilled Pork)
Do Chua (Vietnamese Pickled Carrots and Daikon)
Cucumbers, julienned
Cilantro
Pate (Faux Gras with Chicken Livers)
A few dashes of Maggi Seasoning Sauce or soy sauce
A schmear of mayonnaise or butter, if you wish

Assemble all the ingredients, except pickles and veggies. Put in the toaster oven for about 5 minutes. Then add pickled carrots and daikon, julienned cucumbers, and cilantro.

Remember when I said I had a banh mi series of posts? This is just the first to whet your appetite. :)

Enjoy!

My other Vietnamese banh mi recipes:
Banh Mi Hot Ga Op La (Vietnamese French Bread with Sunnyside-Up Eggs)
Banh Mi Thit Kho Trung (Vietnamese Braised Pork and Egg Sandwich)
