Crown Point Vista House (Winter) - Columbia River Gorge - Oregon

9 Crown Point Vista House (Winter) - Columbia River Gorge 1

When I visit the waterfalls, I like driving on I-84 past Multnomah Falls, and then backtracking on the old highway to end at Crown Point Vista House because it is the perfect spot to look back over the Columbia River Gorge. Of course, the view is much bluer and greener during the summer, but I still think it's pretty impressive nonetheless.

We briefly went inside the Vista House.

The grey skies cast a lovely glow inside.

Afterward, we stopped off for a late afternoon snack, where I ate the best banana creme pie ever. Ever! It was so good that I insisted we return two days later with several other people so we could try eight kinds of pie. Eight! But you'll have to wait for that post because I still had to go back home for dinner with my parents, and then the next day was an epic 1 pub, 2 wineries, 3 cocktail bars, 1 tapas bar, and 1 tea house.

  2. CC,
Thanks. I always like to end here just for the view. It is awfully cold in the middle of winter though!
