Pho Kim Long Vietnamese Restaurant - Las Vegas

The first two vodka shots (more like vodka cups) were fine. I brought the champagne so I had to drink a glass. The three sangrias put me in just the right mood. But the last vodka and two vodka cranberries? I probably should have skipped those.

While I felt fine when I went to bed, by morning I was dying. Dyyying.

So when it was time to decide on where to go for lunch, I requested what any hungover Vietnamese person would want, Pho Bo (Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup). Luckily Pho Kim Long Vietnamese Restaurant in Las Vegas' "Chinatown" is just a five minute drive from the strip. Head west on Spring Mountain Road (that would be the road between the Fashion Show Mall and the Venetian) and keep going past the freeway. There you'll find several strip malls of mostly Vietnamese and Chinese restaurants, with a Thai or Filipino one sprinkled in.

And while the restaurant's name is amusing if you say it fast, it just means golden dragon in Vietnamese. Kim (gold). Long (dragon).

Lil' sis and I got to the restaurant first since the other girls had valet parked their car at the hotel. The wait wasn't that long and by the time we were seated, the rest of the girls entered the restaurant.

The decor is actually quite nice.

The older '88 ordered Cha Gio (Vietnamese Egg Rolls), $6.

We all ordered pho. All seven of us.

I got the large pho dac biet, $7.95. The only thing special about it was the size. No tendon or tripe. Aww. I love tripe. But they were generous with the other meats and noodles.

After inhaling nearly the entire bowl, especially the warm slightly spiced beefy broth, I felt sooo much better.

Sooo much better!

The menu was really pretty extensive, but seriously, for over-indulgers like me, the pho is their stock in trade. Plus, Pho Kim Long is open 24 hours. Can't beat that.

Booze? Las Vegas? What were you thinking? : )

    Glad the pho helped!

Did you have a chance to check out the known discovery - Lotus of Siam?

Hope you had an extra fabulous time.

  2. Andi?,
Yup. I can totally see why this place is so popular.

    Oddlyme,
Haha. I wasn't. :P I've heard mixed things about Lotus of Siam. I think if I had free time, I might check it out, but wouldn't go out of my way to do so. But I'm like that with a lot of places.
