Mom's Chao Vit (Vietnamese Rice Porridge with Duck)

14 Mom's Chao Vit (Vietnamese Rice Porridge with Duck)

After such a full day of eating from Pok Pok - Portland to Tabor - Portland to Kenny & Zuke's Delicatessen - Portland, I was quite happy to come home to my mom's chao vit (Vietnamese rice porridge with duck) for dinner. Such a light, soothing end to a jam-packed day.

All Oregon posts can be found with the tag Series: Oregon, but I suggest reading this particular trip in this order:

  1. I don't mind having this everyday. I grew up eating rice porridge for breakfast.

  2. That looks delectable. I've had the chicken version, but with duck it must be heavenly.

    Both versions are good!

I think chao is just so comforting too.
