Miga Korean BBQ Restaurant - Rowland Heights

Miga Korean BBQ Restaurant - Rowland Heights 1

After our meet-up at Woodlands Indian Cuisine - Artesia (Little India), some of the Biggest Menu-ers, who didn't attend, wanted to join in so we decided to do it again. CrazyPooh and Meowmi suggested all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue for $9.99 for lunch. I know! What a deal!

About a dozen of us trooped over to Miga Korean BBQ Restaurant in Rowland Heights. The oddest thing for me was that the Korean waitress spoke Chinese so other people in our group were able to communicate and request refills or whatever. Apparently there's a number of Koreans who speak Chinese, especially if they're from the border or lived in China for a while? Who knew?

So what did we get for $9.99?

A whole lot as you can tell by the two thumbs up!

Plate of brisket.

And then on the grill.

Chicken, pork belly, and Kalbi/Galbi (Korean Marinated Barbecued Beef Short Ribs).

The marinade on the meats seemed a little on the light side, but overall the quality of the meats was pretty good, especially for that price.

We also got plenty of panchan (Korean side dishes), salad, rice noodle sheets, and daikon slices. The only thing I didn't like was that many of the dishes were sitting out, ready to be placed on a new table or refilled. Even though none of it was hot, I just felt like leaving the panchan out made it a little stale?

Steamed egg.

And Soon Dubu Kimchee Chigae (Korean Soft Tofu Kimchee Soup).

Overall, a really good deal for $9.99. Still a good deal at the dinner price of $13.99.

Lunch ended up taking nearly four hours. Sure it's all the way out in Rowland Heights, but if you're willing to make the trek, there are some good deals that way.

December 3, 2010 update:
Miga just sent me the link to a 20% off coupon the all-you-can-eat dinner only in December on Wednesdays and Fridays. Dinner includes all of the above and hot pot seafood noodles.
