Capital Seafood Chinese Restaurant (Dim Sum) - Monterey Park

I usually go to Capital Dim Sum & BBQ - Monterey Park, the take-out shop version of the restaurant for quick dim sum fixes. But for the new year, lil' sis and her friend and I figured we would dine in the restaurant. I guess everyone else had the same idea, because even though the restaurant is huge, we still had to wait for a table.

But once inside, the dim sum plates come fast and furious.

All that dining space means that Capital Seafood still features pushcart-style dim sum. Most of the basic small dishes are only $2.08, slightly more on weekends.

We started off with some shrimp rice noodles.

And we finished off with chrysanthemum tea jelly for dessert.

The total for the three of us was $30, including tip. Can't beat old school dim sum bargains.

Happy New Year everyone!

  1. Ooh, that chrysanthemum tea jelly looks wonderful! I want to try that next time. My favorite dimsum, I think, is the wide rice noodles with shrimp.
