Pomegranates

8.28 Pomegranates 1

A few months after the pomegranate tree blossoms, of course, you get pomegranates.

Not many though. That's pretty much it. The tree still hasn't recovered from the extreme pruning it got after my break-in. :(

The few pomegranates were just enough to enjoy plain, or to sprinkle on top of some frozen yogurt.

  3. You have the paler pomegranates, right? The color is very delicate. My neighbor's tree just got its first serious (on-purpose) pruning in 10 years. I wonder how it will produce next year.

Ugh. I remember how upsetting that break-in was for you. Hope there are no more like that!

  5. Nichole,
    Mine too.

    CC,
They're not too bad when they're in season. Maybe $1 each?

    Nikki,
Yeah, the yellow kind so the seeds are sweet, not tart. This was more of a hacking than a pruning because the tree blocks the view into the side yard.

    Toni,
Ooh, reminds me to blog La Casita's chile en nogada.
