Introducing "Johannes"

Wanna meet the newest grandbaby in the family?

Introducing Johannes 1

"Johannes" was born to cousin Q's older brother and his wife at 10:18 p.m., weighing in at 8 pounds, 7 ounces.

Was he named for the astronomer Johannes Kepler? Or perhaps for the inventor of the printing press, Johannes Gutenberg? Maybe they're hoping he'll be a composer like Johannes Brahms? What about the painter Johannes Vermeer? Actually, if you were really good at Cockney, you might be able to figure out his real name. :)

Have you been reading long enough to remember when I blogged his parents' wedding reception at Pearl Chinese Cuisine - San Diego several years ago?

And when older brother "Pablo" was born almost two years ago?

Gosh, this is turning into a family blog.

Introducing Johannes 2

Even with all the new babies around, I had forgotten how tiny newborns are. So small and adorable. And what a head of hair!

Introducing Johannes 3

And such tiny toes.

Introducing Johannes 4

The boys are the spitting image of my cousin. So much so that one of their friends jokingly asked my cousin's wife, "Who's the mom?" :P

It amazes me that the boys also have my cousin's facial expression, down to the closing of the same eye. From left to right, that's cousin Q's older brother when he was young, his firstborn "Pablo," and second son "Johannes."

Introducing Johannes 5

And of course, no visit was complete without bringing some food for the tired parents. This time around, it was sandwiches from Cook's Torta's - Monterey Park. But I'll save that for another post.

Congratulations! You know, these are the only two boy grandbabies right now?

  4. CC,
I just can't believe they all make the same face!

    Sis,
I'm not sure he really understands who the baby is. He just sees there's another one around all the time now.

    Co Toan,
Isn't it? It amazes me how much the boys look like my cousin. Or how much my niece looks like my brother. Guess our family genes are pretty strong.

  5. Oh, too cute! I was just going to comment about the hair.

My son was born with a whole head of hair as well. He got really bad cradle's cap and I was told to rub oil on it about 15 or 20 minutes before shampooing it. I did that and shampooed and half of his hair fell out! When Hubby got home from work, he freaked out. We have pictures somewhere. I'll have to see if I can find them.

    Congratulations!

  6. DP,
My cousin's wife says he's been losing quite a bit of hair lately, but it still looks like a lot to me.

  7. My Cockney accent is horrible, non existent actually so the only thing remotely close I could come up with is "Your Highness". Lol
