The timing was perfect because that was during the peak of my vegetarian days. I would eat these with a vegetarian muoc cham made from sugar cane juice to imitate the amber color of nuoc mam. I learned this from a friend of mine who worked in a Viet White on Rice Couplehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10244475421031795493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29502985.post-9253398037721242032008-06-06T15:35:00.000-07:002008-06-06T15:35:00.000-07:00Oanh,I love corn too. Sometimes I add kalamansi orange juice in my nuoc mam cham. Nicely tart and sweet. It's yum!

Cathy,
I wish I were there too! Tell Hawk I'm virtually bringing my mango chicken just for him. ;)

Nikki,
Thanks.Wandering Chopstickshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04703018765718062460noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29502985.post-49773883217624409792008-06-06T10:47:00.000-07:002008-06-06T10:47:00.000-07:00Very very cool idea! You need to make a vego nuoc mam lam (what my family call your nuoc cham).

My eldest sis is a vego and I was, too, for about 6 years.

We made nuoc mam lam chay by replacing fish sauce with soy sauce and upping the amount of lemon (or using orange juice instead). Actually, I almost always use orange juice mixed with lemon juice when making nuoc mam lam.

I've also Oanhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18005515006491660673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29502985.post-41595016551975156832008-06-06T00:07:00.000-07:002008-06-06T00:07:00.000-07:00Mansi,Thanks for inviting me to the party.
